5 reasons to wear 100% polyester t-shirts

5 Gründe für das Tragen von T-Shirts aus 100 % Polyester - Full Time Sports Germany

When you say polyester, most people think of the 1970s and those big, shabby collared shirts. Others might think of those ugly, fluffy blankets you find in cheap motels. Let's face it, polyester has a bad reputation, but today's t-shirts give polyester a second chance. Polyester shirts have become quite popular, and there are five important reasons why.

1. Polyester is durable:

Most of our customers who buy our 100% polyester t-shirts use them for sports purposes. Running, cycling and CrossFit teams love the durability and comfort of a 50/50 cotton-polyester blend like the Gildan DryBlend Shirt or the Augusta Sportswear 100% Polyester Moisture-Wicking T-Shirt.
Even high-performance athletes can't ruin these T-shirts. Polyester lasts forever, so your t-shirt won't fade or wear out.

2. Polyester does not shrink

Over the years, we have noticed that certain 100% cotton shirts shrink after multiple washes. Some models shrink from the side while others shrink upwards. The popular Gildan Ultra Cotton T-Shirt shrinks proportionately overall, but it still shrinks. Due to the nature of polyester fibers, garments such as t-shirts do not shrink. Even t-shirts made from a 50/50 blend will retain their shape over time.

3. Polyester is affordable

So all this longevity comes at a price, right? No. The Gildan DryBlend shirt is affordable and costs almost the same as our best-selling 100% cotton shirt, the Gildan Ultra Cotton. These t-shirts are less than $8 each for a small order of 25 t-shirts ( white t-shirt , one color design). It's also one of our cheapest t-shirts.

4. Polyester is sustainable (That's right!)

If you're environmentally conscious, you might want something made from natural organic cotton and wouldn't even consider printing a t-shirt that contains synthetic materials. Some polyester T-shirts are even made from a mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester - it couldn't be more sustainable.
Comfortable t-shirts that are organic and help you reduce your environmental footprint? What more could you ask for?

5. Don't sweat the small stuff with polyester

Polyester fabric has moisture-wicking properties, meaning it wicks sweat away from the skin. Not only does polyester keep you cool, but it also keeps sweat away from you when things heat up. Because it doesn't retain sweat like 100% cotton t-shirts, the chemicals in sweat don't get trapped in the fibers, resulting in those weird and unsightly yellowish sweat stains.
Are you still debating polyester or cotton ? We've broken down the differences between the t-shirt blends to help you decide which one is right for you.
